Missions Update: Philippines Team A

We have hit our one week point and God has already given us great opportunities here in Manila. While the boys are working on finishing up Arnold’s house we girls have been working with the children in the orphanage and nursery. We are so excited to love on all the kids and play and take care of them. Just recently while working in the nursery we were talking with one of our friends, Rona, and found out she is a new believer who converted from Islam. We spent hours talking with her about how she found Christ and how she continues to learn and grow. Rona has been such an encouragement to us girls and we have been planning Bible studies with her for the next few weeks. We have also been given the opportunity to work with Josie Long and the older girls here at KIM. We hang out with the girls, bake brownies, have Bible studies, watch movies, and play soccer. They are all so fun and we are beginning to deepen our relationships with them along with our conversations. We have been working on discipleship with these girls and I am so excited to see what God has in store for us in the next few weeks with them!

God has been showing and teaching us all so much in just this short time here. Personally God has been really giving me opportunities to fully rely on Him for my strength and satisfaction. Psalm 51:11-13 states, “Give me a pure heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.” These verses have been such an encouragement to me during my time here and reminds me greatly to get back to the basics of the Gospel. The joy of my salvation is a huge push forward in continuing in the work that is being done here! I have gotten connected with some of the teachers along with the headmaster here at Cuatro Christian School and have been able to help with the reading program as a tutor. God has truly opened doors for me in this ministry in preparation for what He has planned for me in the future. Working with the children as they learn to read and better their skills has been an amazing opportunity that has allowed conversations of God and His good news.

We ask that you pray for us and our persistence in our personal disciplines so that we may over flow to those around us. Also for team unity and accountability as the weeks go on. Thank you for the prayers and support!!
