Matt Messner is Pastor of Teaching & Vision at Redeemer Baptist Church. He has been married to Sarah since 2015 and together, they have a son named Malcolm and a daughter named Eleanor. Matt holds degrees from California Baptist University as well as from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Brandon Burns
Pastor of Family Ministries
Brandon Burns is an Elder at Redeemer Baptist Church. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Theology from California Baptist University, which is also where he met his beautiful wife Andrea. Brandon also has a Masters of Theology degree as well as a certificate in Youth Ministry from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Brandon and Andrea are the happy parents of Cameron with hopes of more children to come. He loves playing all sports, watching all sports, reading, and getting outdoors.
Adrian Martinez
Pastor of Music and Worship
Adrian Martinez is an Elder at Redeemer Baptist Church. He oversees music, worship, art, and communications at Redeemer. He has been a member of Redeemer since 2007. Adrian has a B.A. in Visual Art from California Baptist University. He has been married to Sarah since 2008. They are the happy parents of Jack, Quinn, and June. He likes stickers, loves audiobooks, enjoys talking about art & faith, and loves all things music related… especially The Beatles.
John Gill
Pastor of Education
John Gill is an Elder at Redeemer Baptist Church. He has a Bachelor’s degree in European History from University of California San Diego, an M. Div. from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Church History from the Southern Baptist Theology Seminary. John is married to his wife, Jin and they are the happy parents of three boys.

Matt Sonke is an Elder at Redeemer Baptist Church. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy from California Baptist University. Matt is married to his wife, Ashley and they are the happy parents of Joshua, Sofia, and Lincoln.

Lay Elder
Josh is an Elder at Redeemer Baptist Church. He has a Bachelor's in International Relations from California Baptist University, where he also currently works. He is married to Jessica and has one little one, Theo. He loves hanging out with Theo and Jessica, playing basketball and music, and helping with the 40 Questions Podcast with members from Redeemer!
Jeff Mooney
Elder
Jeff Mooney is an Elder at Redeemer Baptist Church. He served at the Pastor of Teaching and Vision at Redeemer Baptist Church from the summer of 2005 till the Fall of 2022. He and his wife Angela have been married since 1992 and have 4 children: Jonathan, Rebekah, Karis, and Sarah. Jeff received his Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Auburn University. He later earned a M.Div. from Beeson Divinity School and a Ph.D. in Old Testament Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He currently holds the post of Associate Professor of Old Testament Studies and Biblical Theology at California Baptist University.
